Review - Anastasia Brow Wiz Ultra-Slim Precision Eyebrow Pencil
Okay, I have to start this blog out with a rather embarrassing secret. My eyebrows are naturally so blonde that they look invisible. When I say invisible, I mean invisible. There were rumors floating around my middle school that I just shaved them off. So naturally, as a self-conscious 14 year old, I decided that something had to be done to prevent further embarrassment. I began filling my eyebrows in shortly after my first visit to the "brow lady," and I have never looked back. Though my technique has drastically improved over the last 8 years, my product of choice has always remained the same- the Anastasia Brow Wiz Ultra-Slim Precision Eyebrow Pencil.
While I will admit that this brow pencil is the only one I have tried, I cannot speak highly about it enough. This pencil provides the perfect amount of color, is easy to use, lasts a long time, and is overall just a great product in general.
I think it is important to mention that I do get my brows tinted as well filling them in with this pencil. The shade I use is taupe, as it is almost a perfect match for my hair color. It adds the perfect amount of warmth on top of the cool-toned tint color. As the tint fades over time, I add more pencil color when filling them in for the day. Whether my brows are freshly tinted or desperately needing a trip to the salon, this pencil is controllable enough to create the perfect amount of shading.
This product comes in 12 different shades, creating a great variety and a color to match anyone's eyebrows. Before I had highlights, I used the shade caramel, but now I use shade taupe which ties in the blonde a little better than caramel did.
The fine, almost pointed tip allows for hair-like lines to be drawn onto the brow, creating a natural look. While the actual pencil is on one end of the product, the other side features a spoolie brush to brush out the brows and blend in the product once it has been applied.
The Anastasia Brow Wiz retails for $25 at Ulta, Sephora, and on the Anastasia Beverly Hills website. This price is moderate. It is a good product, but there are similar competitors for cheaper, such as the NYX Professional Makeup one priced at $11. This product is similarly priced to its primary competitor- Benefit. While I have never tried Benefit's brow products, their version of this pencil has about the same shade range and is one dollar more expensive than the Anastasia one.
Of course, every brow pencil has to be paired with a good brow gel. I have tried my fair share of gels (as messy brow hairs is another piece of my brow problems), and the product works well with all of them.
Be sure to treat your brows and give this product a try. Maybe it will change your life just as much as it changed mine.
Hi Kailyn! I've always heard really great things about this eyebrow pencil but I've never tried it myself, mostly because I had only heard influencers talk about it. It's nice to know that everyday users love it too! I also think I might own the dupe version from NYX so if I'm looking to upgrade I'll definitely have to try it out!
ReplyDeleteHey, this is gonna sound a little weird, but I got a question about this. Would I be able to use this to fill in a bald spot? I have a bald spot in my eyebrow, its a scar I've had since I was a kid. I was told the hair would grow back........obviously it never did. So I would be down for trying out some products to fill in this bald spot
