Review - Saie Dew Blush
Blush is one of my favorite steps in my makeup routine. It just adds some cute little pizzazz, regardless of if it's a natural look or full glam. I'm not sure why we all completely ditched blush for bronzer in 2016, but that's besides the point today.
Based the size of my blush collection, I would consider myself to bee a blush connoisseur. I know which blush is good for which occasion, and boy do I have one for every occasion.
As an avid makeup user and consumer of the social media makeup content, I am very aware of what all the other blush girlies think. I'm about to shock them all, as I have a rather unpopular opinion about today's product, the Dew Blush from Saie Beauty.
I received the holiday mini trio of these blushes from Sephora for Christmas. I was very excited to try them, as they have been pretty popular recently and I continue to notice them during my frequent Sephora trips.
Honestly, I have mixed feelings about these blushes. Overall, the blush once applied is gorgeous, however I personally have a few issues with the application process.
The applicator itself is similar to that of the Rare Beauty liquid blush; the puffy, fluffy wand that you would expect to see on a lip oil. While the applicator looks fun, it can lead to some excess product popping out as you remove the top to apply the product. Additionally, since it is thicker than that of the Rare Beauty blush, it is ever so slightly difficult to use. When you yank out the top, you get a glob or product. You need to go in gently, or else this can ruin your makeup look real quick. I think a smaller applicator would do this product good.
Personally, I like to use a beauty blender to blend in my liquid blush. This product plus a beauty blender is a major no no, which may be my biggest turn off here. The beauty blender tends to absorb a lot of product, making it rather difficult to blend. I find myself adding more and more product to get the coverage I want. I have seen some reviews indicating that a brush works better, so I might have to try that technique out with this particular product. As much as I hate to say it, it is also important to note that this blush can be very patchy. This could be a result of the beauty blender as well, I'm honestly not sure.
The price point on this product is pretty average for a higher end liquid blush- $25 at Sephora and on the Saie Website. It is priced slightly higher than its Rare Beauty competitor ($23). As liquid blushes are becoming more popular, there are even more options at more reasonable price points that continue to be released. The new e.l.f. Cosmetics Camo Liquid Blush is an even better quality product available for $7.
A major plus of these blushes, in my opinion, are the shades available. They are absolutely stunning and unlike some other blush shades I have used. I specifically love shade "Baby," a cool-toned baby pink. Out of 8 available shades, there is always one for every outfit.
Try this blush out for yourself if you want. It is very beautiful once finally well-applied. If you do try it, be sure to get out your blush brush!
I'm slowly becoming addicted to blushes even though I rarely wear makeup. I've been wanting to try out the Saie blushes and actually wanted to get the mini trio set from Sephora but couldn't because they were always sold out whenever I went. I do have a few Rare Beauty blushes though and I love them because of how pigmented they are. I apply them using a brush or even my fingers, if I'm in a rush. Anyways, I want to get at least one Saie blush in the future because I really want to try it!
ReplyDeleteLove this post! I fell in love with blush a couple of years ago and have accumulated quite a collection. I have heard of the Saie brand but I have not tried any of their products yet. I heard it was a really great brand and that they have amazing products so I definitely need to get my hands on one of their products... maybe the blush because it is so pretty! Like Maisha said, I also have a rare beauty liquid blush that I use and love and I heard it is similar to the Saie blush.
